by Racheal HimselI bought my first deck of Soul Cards when I was living in Chicago in 1999. When the second deck came out I was thrilled, and added it to my first deck. Since then, I’ve done readings using both decks for myself and friends. I am greatly intrigued by the very visceral reactions that people have to the cards; some are truly moved by the artwork, by the beauty, and some are frightened by the more, well, frightening images. I’ve given out at least 10 cards to friends who’ve been greatly affected by an image.I first used SoulCards as
A ‘Loving Walk’ to Wholeness and Healing by Candy A. Magno This article traces the history and genesis of the use of the SoulCards in the Philippines through the Healing-Quest project. I will share the lives of real people who have been touched by their gentle and loving wisdom.During the last decades of the century people from all walks of life and different cultural backgrounds have witnessed the ‘rebirthing’ of an age-old mystic tradition of the healing process. My second near-death experience in 1998 was a significant turning point in my

We have just completed the sixth reprint of SoulCards 1, which makes 61,000 of this deck now in print! We included a special edition of 1,100 decks for Steven Lam. He is director of the Institute for Clinical and Advanced Hypnosis in Hong Kong. He has been using SoulCards in his practice and teaching, and finds that the images assist people in his culture to access depth levels of their psyches. He believes so deeply in the power of SoulCards that he has moved ahead with this project even in this time of international economic insecurity. He has set up distribution a
by Noreen Wessling and 7-Arts StudioTouch Drawing Workshops are a popular event at 7 Arts Studio in Milford, Ohio. I have facilitated these groups for the past 5 years. The creative juices from participants have sparked many innovative ways to expand our mutual Touch Drawing horizons, resulting in more interest and bigger groups as time goes on. A bunch of us were looking at my Dream Treasure Cards when someone said, "Why don't we make our own Touch Drawing Cards!" With big smiles on our faces and a gleam in our eyes... the rest is history.Excitement rose as the word g

by Kathleen DentonTwo years ago I met my soul partner. I had the richest year of my life and after a year we married. Two months later my husband had a grand mal seizure. The doctors discovered a malignant brain tumor deep in his brain. They told us he had at the most five years to live. Our joy and exuberance for life was paralyzed. We spent a year fighting the cancer and the agony of lost dreams and plans. It wasn't until the last few months that we realized we had been handed a very unusual gift.Recently I attended a seminar given by Cristina Baldwi
I’ve made art for years. Ever since I can remember, I’ve drawn on paper, in dirt, and in my mind with clouds, fabric, fur and many other textures. For nearly a decade I’ve taught studio art to different levels of students – from young children to octogenarians, from complete beginners to professional artists. But in all of my art making experiences I’ve never been as thoroughly moved as I have been by Touch Drawing.
I can draw; and I can create pretty art. I’ve had successful shows and sold many pieces of artwork. Though my
Kari Grady Grossman Author of Bones That Float, A Story of Adopting CambodiaIn the fall of 2000, I was impatiently waiting for the adoption of my son from Cambodia, when an energetic healer asked me to pull a card from a deck of SoulCards. When she saw the image on the card she told me to keep it. With a background the color of the ocean, the image has two women painted in a circular pattern like yin and yang; a white woman with strong hands is looking up expectantly, while an olive brown woman floats above her, one arm penetrating the other’s heart.
Susan Beamish, Algonquin Energy Medicine & Healing, Bernard Bear Clan, Tent Shaker Tradition I have recently started using SoulCards in my shamanic healing work with clients and find them to be a very useful medicine tool. The beautiful multi-layered images Deborah has created are rich with meaning and evoke deep emotions. They assist clients in giving expression to the wounds that need healing. I also use them to help clients see how their perceptual states can drastically shift during the course of a healing session. At the start of a healing s
Little did I know when I published SoulCards in 1995, how deeply rooted they would be-come in lives of so many. In my travels to teach Touch Drawing and draw at conferences, I meet many people. Often someone will come up to me to say how important SoulCards are in their lives. It is not uncommon for them to have been using them for many years. At times they tell me that SoulCards helped them through the challenges of adolescence. This is what happens when a creation has been in the world for over a generation! SoulCards were released in the fall of 1995. I had spent the year selecting images, writing the guidebook, preparing the cards for printing, developing a marketing plan, and generally jumping into the world of publishing. I acted on faith, energized by a strong inner impulse and the support of a few friends.Twenty years later, I am amazed to see how the SoulCards continue to bring inspiration and insight into so many lives. I am happy to share a few of the testimonials we have received. They offer a sense of the many ways the SoulCards are being used. Let us know what
A Card a Day Keeps Uncertainty Away...by Leland R. Kaiser, PhDOne of the ways to accelerate your intuition is to remember to use it each day. This card exercise helps you do that. Pick “at random” one SoulCard at the beginning of each day. Before you draw the card, silence your mind for a few moments. This will help you “tune in” and select the most meaningful card. The doctrine of correspondences states that your drawn card will correspond to what happens to you during the day. In other words, the SoulCard is a microcosm of the

by Carla Summerlin Executive Director, Hampton Alzheimer’s Community Vancouver, Washington Carla@thehampton.comI first encountered the SoulCards at a meeting that was sponsored by St. Charles Medical Center in Bend Oregon. One of the speakers was Lee Kaiser. (http://www.kaiser.net/) He introduced the SoulCards to us by passing a basket around and asking each of us to draw a card. He talked about how to work with them and then allowed time for each of us to talk with him about what the card we had chosen may represent for us.The card that I drew was
