Watching these short testimonials reminds me of the experience I had when Deborah came to us at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC Canada for a weekend workshop about 12 or more years ago now. The images that emerged from my drawings accompany me to this day – were instantly familiar (and yet I could not have “drawn” them freehand for my life) and beloved. One is mounted on bristol board and sites behind my desk and as much of my work as a professor is online, this one is with me, holding the backbone space as well as a lantern (think spritely hermit) and I continue to draw affection for this one each time I remember she is there. The others were equally evocative and one in particular, a creature emerging from the cattails feels like kin from a kairotic time, a deep time, web-memory. This art-making borders the mystical, bridges this to that by illuminating the in-between-nesses where aliveness and soul reside. And Soul Cards (two decks mingled) are part of the practice tools I bring to my graduate ecopsychology class on campus each summer in our morning writing/studio time…I offer them to students on a big wooden platter, an offering of the sacred and there are never any accidents about who gets what image – cosmic alignment! Thank you, dear Deborah for saying yes to your wild gifts and sharing them so generously with the world. Love to you! xo

Hillary, It is so good to hear from you – and to know how alive the images you created that weekend continue to be. It was a beautiful weekend for me at Royal Roads. I took quiet time with the great trees on your campus each day.
